What is the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step challenge?

FundedNext Stellar 2-Step rules: 8% and 5% profit targets, 5% daily loss limit, 10% static max loss, 5 minimum trading days and 80% reward share

Stellar 2-Step is FundedNext's two-phase CFD evaluation: hit 8%, then 5%, without breaking the loss limits, and you receive a FundedNext Account. It is the firm's longest route to funding, and in exchange it carries the widest loss limits among the Stellar challenges: 10% maximum loss against 6% on Stellar 1-Step, which we cover in our Stellar 1-Step guide.

On a $100K account the numbers work out like this:

  1. Phase 1: make $8,000 while trading on at least 5 separate days.
  2. Phase 2: a new account is issued at the end of the day you pass; make $5,000 over at least 5 days.
  3. Sign the agreement and complete KYC (photo ID plus a liveness check, reviewed in about 48 hours). Accounts that skip KYC for 30 days after passing can be deactivated.
  4. Pass FundedNext's risk review and receive the FundedNext Account, where there is no target and no minimum day count.

Neither phase has a deadline, and the 5 trading days do not have to be consecutive. Hitting the target early does not move you on until the fifth day is logged; the No Minimum Trading Days add-on removes that wait, but only on the $6K, $15K and $25K sizes.

How do the Stellar 2-Step loss limits work?

Calculator, notebook, pencil and coffee on a desk, used to work out the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step daily loss limit

The daily loss limit is 5% of the initial balance, widened by any profit made earlier that day.

Stellar 2-Step uses two loss limits, both measured from the initial balance: 5% per day and 10% in total. Breaking either one breaches the account, in both challenge phases and on the funded account.

The daily limit counts closed and floating losses plus swaps, commissions and fees, and resets at 00:00 server time. Profit made earlier the same day widens it. FundedNext's own example on $100K: with $2,000 of profit by noon, you can lose up to $7,000 that day before breaching. At midnight it goes back to $5,000, so starting a day at $110,000 and losing $5,000 is still a breach even though equity sits at $105,000.

The 10% maximum is static rather than trailing. On $100K the floor is $90,000 and stays there, in contrast to the trailing drawdowns common at futures firms. That makes Stellar 2-Step forgiving after a good run: profit builds a cushion above a floor that never moves up.

How do Stellar 2-Step payouts work?

Stellar 2-Step pays 80% of account growth by default, with the challenge fee refunded on the first reward.

Once funded, you earn 80% of account growth by default. FundedNext's help centre describes three payout structures for Stellar 2-Step: a standard cycle (first payout after 21 days, then every 14 days), a "3 profitable days" option (three days of at least 1% profit each, at a 60% share) and an on-demand option (at least 2% growth with no single day above 40% of profit, at a 90% share). The choice is fixed at purchase. On 13 October 2026 the checkout we used offered the standard cycle plus a Bi-Weekly Reward add-on (+25%) that removes the 21-day first cycle, so check which options your checkout shows before you pay.

After FundedNext Pro scale-up90%
Lifetime Reward 95% add-on (+30%)95% at every stage
15% challenge reward15% of both phase targets, paid once you qualify for scale-up (not available to US traders)

Two extras change the real cost. The fee you paid for the challenge comes back as a refundable fee with your first performance reward, and the 15% challenge reward adds 15% of the combined phase targets, $1,950 on a $100K account, once you reach scale-up. Payouts go out by USDT, USDC, Confirmo, RiseWorks, bank transfer, card or a transfer to FNmarkets, and FundedNext states they settle within 24 hours of approval.

Our tracker recorded $14,074,772 across 8,875 FundedNext payouts in the 30 days to 13 October 2026, firm-wide across CFD and futures. That is a verified on-chain floor, not total volume: bank and card payouts leave no public trace. The daily breakdown is on our FundedNext payouts page.

Which Stellar 2-Step rules catch traders out?

FundedNext Stellar 2-Step rules to know: 40% news profit rule, 3% risk limit, 30-second Quick Strike rule and no EAs from $50K

Most Stellar 2-Step breaches and deductions come from rules outside the profit target. These are the ones to read before your first trade on the funded account:

  • News window. News trading is allowed, but on the funded account only 40% of the profit from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes either side of a high-impact release counts. Losses count in full. The rule does not apply in the challenge phases, as FundedNext's news-trading article explains.
  • 3% risk limit. On the funded account, the potential loss across open trades (by stop-loss, plus realised and floating losses) may not exceed 3% of the initial balance. A first breach costs the profit from those trades; a second permanently cuts the account's limit to 1%.
  • Quick Strike. Trades closed within 30 seconds may not make up 30% or more of a cycle's profit. In the challenge, crossing 30% only pauses progress; on the funded account the profit is deducted, and staying above it at cycle end closes the account.
  • EAs only below $50K. Expert advisors are allowed on the $6K to $25K sizes. From $50K upwards you must trade manually.
  • Copy trading. Allowed between your own challenge accounts up to $300,000 combined; never into or out of a funded account, and never with another person.

How does Stellar 2-Step scaling work?

For accounts bought on or after 12 January 2026, scaling runs through FundedNext Pro: after 4 performance rewards, each with at least 4% growth, and at least 2 months on the account, the balance grows by 25%, up to $4 million. A $100K Stellar 2-Step account becomes $125K at the first step, and the reward share rises to 90%.

Reaching Pro also releases the 15% challenge reward and comes with a free $100K Stellar Lite challenge and a 12% discount on later purchases. A cycle under 4% does not reset your progress; it simply does not count. Two limits apply: merged accounts cannot be scaled, and two funded accounts can only be merged if they come from the same model and total no more than $300,000.

Verdict

Stellar 2-Step is the FundedNext challenge for traders who would rather have room than speed. Two phases and 10 trading days at minimum take longer than Stellar 1-Step, but a 10% static floor and a 5% daily limit leave space for normal losing streaks, and the refundable fee means a trader who gets paid recovers the entry cost. The trade-offs sit on the funded side: the default share is 80% until you scale, the news window cuts profit from release-day trades by 60%, and the 3% risk cap rules out large single bets. If your strategy is steady and manually traded, those rules will rarely bite. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step rules?

8% profit in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, a 5% daily loss limit, a 10% static maximum loss and at least 5 trading days per phase, with no time limit. The funded account keeps both loss limits and drops the target and day minimum.

Is the FundedNext Stellar 2-Step drawdown static or trailing?

Static. The 10% maximum loss is measured from the initial balance and does not move up with profit, so a $100K account is breached only below $90,000.

How much does the Stellar 2-Step challenge cost?

From $59.99 for $6K to $1,099.99 for $200K at list price on 13 October 2026, or $39.99 to $1,022.99 with code CRITIC. The fee is refunded with your first performance reward.

Can you use EAs on Stellar 2-Step?

Only on the $6K, $15K and $25K sizes. Accounts of $50K and above must be traded manually, and the EA add-ons cannot be bought for them.

When do you get paid on Stellar 2-Step?

On the standard cycle, the first performance reward comes 21 days after your first funded trade and every 14 days after that, if the account is in profit. The Bi-Weekly Reward add-on makes it 14 days from the start.
