    # What are Perpetual Futures?

    Understand mechanics behind perpetual Futures and Hyperliquid feed

    Updated over 2 weeks ago

    Perpetual Futures (Perps) is a new market available on E8 Terminal, powered by the Hyperliquid data feed. It replaces the existing Crypto market and expands the available instruments to include cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices, and metals - all within the SimFi™ environment.

    * * *

    **What are Perpetual Futures?**

    Perpetual Futures, or Perps are derivative contracts that let you trade the price movement of an asset without owning it and without an expiry date. Unlike traditional futures, they run indefinitely (24/7 Trading). Hold as long as you want, as long as your margin holds.

    Simply put: you are trading price direction, with leverage, and no expiry clock.

    * * *

    **What is Hyperliquid?**

    Hyperliquid is a high-performance decentralised exchange (DEX) built specifically for perpetual futures trading. It operates on its own blockchain - the Hyperliquid L1 which is designed for speed, transparency, and on-chain order book execution.

    What makes Hyperliquid different from traditional centralised exchanges is that all trades, order books, and liquidations happen on-chain, meaning every transaction is verifiable and transparent. It has rapidly become one of the most liquid and actively traded perpetuals venues in the market.

    **E8 Terminal uses Hyperliquid as its data feed for the Perps market - meaning the prices, spreads, and market movements you see on your account reflect what is happening on Hyperliquid in real time.**

    **How does this work at E8?**

    Same mechanics, simulated capital.

    E8's simulated environment replicates real-market conditions using real market data. The Perps market on E8 Terminal is powered by the Hyperliquid feed - the data is real, the capital is not.

    This means:

    - Price movements reflect what is happening on Hyperliquid in real time

    - Spreads and funding rates behave as they would in a live environment

    - Slippage can occur, just as it would in a real market

    - No real funds are deployed on your behalf at any point

    * * *

    **What instruments are available?**

    The Perps market replaces the existing Crypto market and significantly expands the range of tradable instruments:

    - **Cryptocurrencies** \- major and altcoin perpetuals

    - **Stocks** \- equity perpetuals

    - **Indices** \- index perpetuals

    - **Metals** \- commodity perpetuals

    This gives traders access to a much broader range of markets within a single simulated environment, all powered by the same Hyperliquid feed.

    * * *

    **What is the fee structure?**

    Currently, all crypto instruments under Perpetual futures (Hyperliquid) are under a 0.0450% (taker) and 0.015% (maker) structure. Taker is for market orders, and maker is for limit orders. This means that trading through limit orders is much cheaper (the fee is based exactly on the Hyperliquid fees).

    The 0.045% and 0.015% structure applies to cryptocurrencies. For traditional instruments like stocks, indices, Gold, oil, etc, the fees are set to 0.0090% (taker) and 0.0030% (maker).

    The easiest way to calculate the fee is to take the notional value of the position, multiply it by the % of the fee, and you will get the exact fee you pay in $.

    Perpetual Futures is available for:

    - **E8 pro**

    Trading takes place exclusively on **E8 Terminal** — our proprietary trading platform. Perps are not available on MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, or MatchTrader.

    This gives traders access to a much broader range of markets within a single simulated environment, all powered by the same Hyperliquid feed.

    * * *

    * * *

    * * *

    * * *

    **What instruments are available?**

    The Perps market replaces the existing Crypto market and significantly expands the range of tradable instruments:

    - **Cryptocurrencies** \- major and altcoin perpetuals

    - **Stocks** \- equity perpetuals

    # What are Perpetual Futures?

    Understand mechanics behind perpetual Futures and Hyperliquid feed

    Updated over a week ago

    Perpetual Futures (Perps) is a new market available on E8 Terminal, powered by the Hyperliquid data feed. It replaces the existing Crypto market and expands the available instruments to include cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices, and metals - all within the SimFi™ environment.

    * * *

    * * *

    * * *

    **What instruments are available?**

    The Perps market replaces the existing Crypto market and significantly expands the range of tradable instruments:

    - **Cryptocurrencies** \- major and altcoin perpetuals

    - **Stocks** \- equity perpetuals

    - **Indices** \- index perpetuals

    - **Metals** \- commodity perpetuals

    This gives traders access to a much broader range of markets within a single simulated environment, all powered by the same Hyperliquid feed.

    * * *

    - **E8 One**

    - **E8 pro**

    Trading takes place exclusively on **E8 Terminal** — our proprietary trading platform. Perps are not available on MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, or MatchTrader.

    - No real funds are deployed on your behalf at any point

    * * *

    **What instruments are available?**

    The Perps market replaces the existing Crypto market and significantly expands the range of tradable instruments:

    - **Cryptocurrencies** \- major and altcoin perpetuals

    - **Stocks** \- equity perpetuals

    - **Indices** \- index perpetuals

    - **Metals** \- commodity perpetuals

    This gives traders access to a much broader range of markets within a single simulated environment, all powered by the same Hyperliquid feed.

    * * *

    # What are Perpetual Futures?

    Understand mechanics behind perpetual Futures and Hyperliquid feed

    Updated this week

    Perpetual Futures (Perps) is a new market available on E8 Terminal, powered by the Hyperliquid data feed. It replaces the existing Crypto market and expands the available instruments to include cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices, and metals - all within the SimFi™ environment.

    * * *

    * * *

    # What are Perpetual Futures?

    Understand mechanics behind perpetual Futures and Hyperliquid feed

    Updated yesterday

    Perpetual Futures (Perps) is a new market available on E8 Terminal, powered by the Hyperliquid data feed. It replaces the existing Crypto market and expands the available instruments to include cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices, and metals - all within the SimFi™ environment.

    * * *

    * * *

    * * *

    **What instruments are available?**

    The Perps market replaces the existing Crypto market and significantly expands the range of tradable instruments:

    - **Cryptocurrencies** \- major and altcoin perpetuals

    - **Stocks** \- equity perpetuals

    - **Indices** \- index perpetuals

    - **Metals** \- commodity perpetuals

    This gives traders access to a much broader range of markets within a single simulated environment, all powered by the same Hyperliquid feed.

    * * *

    - **E8 One**

    - **E8 pro**

    Trading takes place exclusively on **E8 Terminal** — our proprietary trading platform. Perps are not available on MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, or MatchTrader.
